Scientific name: Ocimum basilicum
Botany: Aromatic herb belonging to the Lamiaceae family, it has oval, shiny, dark and spongy leaves that blooms at the end of the summer and is of intense perfume, it has white flowers at the extremities of the upper axes.
Origin and History: Native to Iran, India, Pakistan, and other tropical regions of Asia, it has been cultivated and widely used in Ayurvedic medicine for several millennia. Basil currently thrives in the Mediterranean region, it is considered above all an aromatic and culinary plant in Europe, important in Italian cuisine, especially in the popular "pesto" sauce.
Aromatic Biochemistry:
methyl chavicol, limonene, linalool, eugenol
Therapeutic Properties: Powerful antispasmodic, digestive tonic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, soothing.
Therapeutic Uses: Dysmenorrhea, viral hepatitis and liver congestion, muscle cramps and contractions, arthritis, tendonitis and rheumatism, anxiety, insomnia, headaches.

Methods of Use:
- Via Atmosférica: 5 to 10 drops in diffuser of your preference.
- Cutaneous Route: 10 drops of essential oil + 30 drops of vegetable oil.
- Oral route: 2 drops of essential oil mixed with honey.
Employment Precautions:
Flammable. Oral use for medical indication. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.
