Scientific Name: Juniperus Virginiana
Botany: The Virginia Cedar, belonging to the Cupresáceae family, is an evergreen tree that reaches a height of more than 30 meters, grows on rocky slopes in North America and has its red bark, which is why it is also known as Red Cedar.
Origin and History: Native to the eastern slopes in the American Rockies, it has been used by Native American peoples for medicinal purposes for hundreds of years, it can also be found in Europe where it was introduced as an ornamental tree in the 17th century.

cedrol, alpha cedrene, beta cedrene, widdrol, eudesmol, thujopsen
Therapeutic Properties: Antiseptic, astringent, balsamic, depurative, diuretic, expectorant, insect repellent, pectoral, venous and lymphatic decongestant, fungicide, circulatory stimulant, venous tonic.
Therapeutic Uses: Respiratory infections, decongestant, catarrh, bronchitis, cough, urinary tract infections, varicose veins, internal and external hemorrhoids, hydrolipidic retention, lymphatic drainage, acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, seborrhea.
Energetic Aromatherapy: Linked to the Sahasrara Crown Chakra, its color is violet, its element is light.
The cedrol present in large quantities in this essential oil provides psycho-emotional well-being by calming anxiety and nervous tension.
How to Use:
- By Diffusion: 5 to 10 drops in a diffuser of your preference.
- On the Skin: 2 ml of essential oil + 10 ml of vegetable oil.
- Oral Administration: 1 drop of essential oil mixed with honey, twice a day, for allergies and colds.
Employment Precautions:
Flammable. Oral use for medical indication. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age, and pregnant or lactating women.
