Scientific Name: Zingiber officinalis

Botany: Ginger is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Zingiberaceae family. This perennial herb grows to a meter tall, with narrow lance-shaped leaves, white or yellow flowers, and small tuberous rhizomes with brown skin. Its meat can be yellow, white or red, depending on the variety.

Origin and History: Originally from India and well known in Asia, it has been used for more than 5000 years in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, culinarily it has an important role in all Asian, African and Caribbean cuisine; is an integral part of indiancurry, the arabicRas el Hanout and always accompanies, marinated to the sushi and the sashimi in japanese food. In Chinese medicine it basically gives rise to 2 drugs of slightly different nature and actions: fresh ginger (Shen Jiang) and the dry ginger (Gan Jiang). Ginger arrived in France and Germany during the 9th century and a little later in England, where in the 11th century it was already well known giving rise to drinks such asGinger Ale, beer, or ginger tea.

How to Use: 
- By Diffusion: 5 to 10 drops in a diffuser of your preference.
- On the Skin: 4 drops of essential oil + 6 drops of vegetable oil.
- Oral Administration: 2 drops of essential oil mixed with honey, 3 times a day, for nausea or intestinal gas.

Employment Precautions: 
Flammable. Oral use for medical indication. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age, and pregnant or lactating women.
