Scientific Name: Mentha piperita

Botany: Peppermint belongs to the Lamiaceae family. It is a hybrid fromfrom the cross between water mint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata)It is a perennial plant with small, highly aromatic leaves with spikes of small pinkish-mauve flowers, measuring approximately 80 centimeters.

Origin and History: The excellent digestive properties of peppermint have been known since ancient times, among the Greeks and Egyptians, where dried leaves were found in the pyramids. Cultivated in Europe, Asia and North Africa for its essential oil, its fresh leaves are highly appreciated in cooking, in cocktails or in the famous mint tea.

Aromatic Biochemistry:
menthol, menthone, isomenthone, menthyl acetate, 1,8-cineole, beta caryophyllene, limonene.

Therapeutic Properties: Analgesic, antibacterial, antispasmodic, anesthetic, antipruritic, urinary and intestinal anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, tonic and general stimulant (digestive, cardiac, pancreatic, nervous).

Therapeutic Uses: Headache, migraine, nausea, colic, flatulence, colitis, sinusitis, muscular discomfort, sciatica, sprains, rheumatism, menstrual cramps, acne, mental exhaustion, nervous tension, fatigue.

Energetic Aromatherapy: Linked to the throat chakra Vishuddha and the third eye Anja, its color is blue and its elements are light and ether.
Peppermint essential oil refreshes the air, breath, tempers fiery people and helps keep a cool head.

How to Use: 
- By Diffusion: 5 to 10 drops in a diffuser of your preference.
- On the Skin: 1 drop of essential oil for the sciatica.
- Oral Administration: 2 drops of essential oil mixed with honey, 3 times a day, for digestive disorders.

Employment Precautions: 
Flammable. Oral use for medical indication. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age, and pregnant or lactating women.
